Skid Row Rescue

In August of 2022, we received an email from one of our rescue partners about an 82-year-old homeless man on Skid Row who needed help caring for a sweet young mama cat and her three nursing kittens that he was keeping in cages on the sidewalk. The man was living in a trailer with his own two cats when he found this family of cute calicos and tabbies. Having recently been hospitalized for a week due to colon surgery, he couldn’t take on more cats.

The rescuer who contacted us specialized in fostering dogs, so she reached out to TARA for help in placing this kitten crew. One of the fosters in our network took in these beauties and named them Gemma, Gigi, Jess, and Mama Jane. We call them the Generation G/J juveniles, and they’re now enjoying life with their foster and forever families.

If you want to get more kittens like our G/J crew off the streets and into loving homes,
please consider making a one-time or recurring donation to The Animal Rescue Alliance.
